         <description><![CDATA[Tulane head coach Mark Booras took over the reins of Green Wave men's tennis program on June 28, 2008, and the first-year coach is looking to lead the TU tennis team back to national prominence. Prior to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Tulane men's tennis team was one of the nation's elite programs with nine NCAA Tournament appearances since 1996, while Michael Kogan finished as the NCAA national runner-up in singles in 2004. A powerhouse in collegiate tennis since the 1930's, Tulane won its lone national championship in 1959, while finishing as the national runner-up in 1949 and 1957. The Green Wave boasts eight national singles champions and two doubles team champions.Since 1996, the Green Wave has captured five Conference USA titles (2005, 2004, 2003, 2001, 1997) and finished as the runner-up twice (1999, 2002). As a member of the SEC, the Green Wave won 18 conference titles from 1939-1964.]]></description>
